a Misty Mindfulness Moment
If you feel comfortable, go ahead and close your eyes.
Let your body rest however it is—nothing to fix or force.
Just… allow.
Take a slow breath in through your nose…
and exhale through your mouth.
Again.
Inhale gently…
and exhale fully, letting a little tension go with the breath.
One more time, slower this time…
breathe in…
and out.
Let yourself arrive.
Not just your body, but your awareness.
You don’t need to be anywhere else right now.
You don’t need to do anything right now.
This moment doesn’t ask for your performance.
Only your presence.
Notice your breath
not to control it,
just to witness it.
Let it be your anchor.
Now bring your attention gently to your body
Where are you holding something?
Where is there warmth?
Where is there tightness?
Can you just notice that…
without judgment?
Can you meet it like a friend?
Even if that friend is messy,
or anxious,
or a little tired?
Let that part of you know
You don’t have to be fixed.
You just have to be felt.
Now if it helps, place one hand on your chest.
Feel your heartbeat.
This moment is alive.
And maybe say to yourself, silently:
Just for now… I am safe.
Just for now… I am allowed to rest.
Just for now… I can simply be.
And just for fun
maybe let yourself hold something true and something confusing at the same time.
You’re allowed to be a contradiction.
You’re allowed to be all your layers at once
still showing up. still good.
Take another slow breath…
Let the air move through the parts of you that didn’t know they were waiting for it.
And when you’re ready
you can gently wiggle your fingers and toes,
bring your awareness back into the room,
and open your eyes.
