How To Stop Being A Burden

There are times when we feel like all we do is just for nothing. That nobody acknowledges anything we accomplish, that everyone only sees our mistakes. We feel as if everything we do, even breathing, makes other people’s lives harder, that we do not contribute anything good. We feel as if they are better off without us and that we should not be around them to hurt them anymore.

This is simply not true. This is just our own feelings. We feel disappointed in ourselves for not living up to what WE think other people expect of us. We are not perfect and we should not put ourselves in the line of absolute failure. The people who matter in our lives only want to see us succeed and be happy as you do them. They would certainly not feel good if you just gave up.

Consciously make an effort to stop thinking about being a burden
List down things that make you happy
List down things that you are good at
Stop blaming yourself for things you have no control over
List the people who you love and what you love about them
And list what they love about you
Pinpoint what it is exactly that makes you feel like you are being a burden
List the things you can do to make the situation better

Knowing what caused you to feel that way and knowing the steps you can take to solve the problem may go a long way. It is okay to feel these emotions, but as we feel them, we have to learn to grow from it.
