a Misty Mindfulness Moment
Take a moment to settle into this space
whatever “settling” means to you right now.
You don’t need to fix anything.
You don’t have to get calm, or feel better,
or perform any particular version of “being present.”
You are already here. And that is enough.
Let your body find some stillness
or gentle movement if that’s what it’s asking for.
Let your breath be just as it is.
Just notice it.
Notice the feeling of where you are.
Where your body meets gravity.
Where the ground holds you without question.
Notice where your feet are.
Your back. Your hands.
The textures beneath you.
Let your breath move in and out.
Not because you’re trying
but because it just is.
If there’s discomfort or tension or numbness
acknowledge it.
Just notice it like you would sit beside a friend
who doesn’t want advice, only company.
Now bring your attention inward.
What’s here with you today?
Maybe it’s a thought. A memory. A tightness in the chest.
Maybe it’s nothing. A flatness. A blur.
Whatever it is, it’s okay.
You don’t need to change it.
You can just let it be.
You are not your thoughts.
You are not your pain.
You are the one noticing.
And that noticing is enough.
You don’t have to do anything in this place.
You don’t have to make sense of your feelings.
Just let yourself exist there.
Let yourself be held by that space.
Let the pain, the numbness, the longing
whatever is here
have permission to be here with you.
Begin to notice the room again.
Notice your body.
The breath, still here. Still yours.
Maybe you feel different. Maybe not.
There’s no right way to come back.
You practiced being with what is,
even if it wasn’t what you wanted.
That takes courage.
That is strength.
When you’re ready, bring yourself back.
Feel the support under you.
Open your eyes if they were closed.
Shift in your seat if you need to.
We’re still here with you.
