a Misty Mindfulness Moment
Hi everyone.
Let’s take a few minutes just to land.
Nothing complicated
just you, your breath, and a little more space than you had a moment ago.
If you’re comfortable, let your eyes close.
Or soften your gaze somewhere steady.
Start by noticing the ground beneath you
your feet, your seat, whatever’s supporting you.
Let it hold your weight.
You don’t have to hold yourself up right now.
The earth is already doing that.
Now gently bring your attention to your breath.
Noticing it, not changing it.
Just watching how it moves through you
in… and out.
Like a soft tide, steady and present.
And now if it helps, place a hand somewhere on your body
your chest, your belly, or even just resting on your lap.
Just a quiet signal to yourself:
I’m here.
I’m safe.
I’m allowed to take this moment.
Let’s breathe here together.
In through the nose…
And out through the mouth.
Twice more, at your own pace.
Now I’d like to invite you gently
to imagine a place where your body can exhale.
A place that feels like yours.
It doesn’t have to be perfect.
It doesn’t even have to be real.
It just has to feel safe.
Maybe it’s a forest trail dappled with sunlight.
Maybe it’s a quiet room with an open window.
Maybe it’s something you’ve only seen in a dream
a field of wildflowers under a galaxy sky.
Maybe it’s somewhere no one else knows but you.
Let yourself be there now.
What do you see?
What do you hear?
What does the air feel like on your skin?
Are you sitting, walking, lying down?
Is there warmth?
Is there stillness?
Can you feel your breath move easier in this place?
And even if the outside world is busy…
Right here, in this moment,
you get to rest.
Let that place fill you.
Not to escape
but to remember.
This part of you exists,
even when things are hard.
You can return to it.
Any time.
Let’s take one more deep breath here.
In through the nose…
Out through the mouth.
And when you’re ready, slowly begin to bring your awareness back
to your feet, your hands, the space around you.
No rush.
Just returning.
Still held.
Still whole.
Thank you for taking that moment with me.
