suffering and containment

Suffering isn’t always necessary.

Not in the way we’ve been taught.
Sometimes, it just needs to be.

The question might not be “is it necessary?”
Maybe what’s needed is space.
Witnessing.
No shoulds, no goals.
Just truth held together.

It hurts this much to feel this much
Because we are alive.
We love with our whole being.
We remain open, even when others do not.

Containment isn’t always necessary.

But it is enforced.
Without regard for safety and truth
But for compliance.
For image.
For protection that flattens
the very people it claims to serve.

Containment becomes harmful
when it interrupts real processes
When it silences not because the expression is too alive.

Sometimes boundaries, lines, edges are needed.
But not like this.
Not suddenly.
Not without care.
Not when we are still saying:
“I’m here, can you stay with me?”

Containment should be about holding,
not about stopping.

Containment and suffering are not always necessary.
What’s necessary is mindfulness.
What’s necessary is intention.
What’s necessary is listening.
What’s necessary is us.
